Highly Anticipated School of Communications En Route to Morgan State University
Dean of The New School of Global Journalism and Communication Appointed
Baltimore, MD – Mr. Dewayne Wickham, a nationally recognized Journalist, will establish the School of Global Journalism and Communications at Morgan State University. Mr. Wickham was welcomed to Morgan during the summer of 2012, and is expected to have successfully founded the school June 2013. The expected program will make the current department more dynamic, interactive, and focused on providing students a great classroom experience.
The School of Global Journalism and Communications at Morgan State University is well underway under the leadership of Mr. Wickham, and has an anticipated initiation date of June 2013. “My focus as the new Communication Studies Department chairman will be upon creating a new school of Global Journalism and Communication at Morgan State University,” says Founding dean Dewayne Wickham. Mr. Wickham has immediately placed a strong focus on the fundamentals of communication.
Mr. Wickham, an established and respected professional in the communication industry, offers assurance to staff and students to provide the necessary resources needed for collaborative success. Wickham has worked with many powerful national leaders including Dr. Mary Frances Berry, Nelson Mandela, Jean Bertrand Aristide, and Bill Clinton. “He continues to offer support to fellow journalist as they navigate the difficult times in our industry,” NABJ Founder Sandra Long said. As a founding member and president of the National Association of Black Journalist, a syndicated columnist since 1985, and an author of four books, Mr. Wickham is well equipped to lead a new school.
